Considering a diamond purchase?
The 4 C's of diamonds:
1. Carat Weight - Refers to the weight of the
diamond, based on a 100-point (or, 1 carat) scale. If
all other factors are equal, the more a stone weighs,
the more valuable it is.
2. Cut - Refers to the shape and finish of a
polished diamond. The size and angle relationships between
the facets and different parts of the stone are directly
related to its value.
3. Clarity - Refers to a stone's position on
a flawless-to-imperfect grading scale. The size, number,
position, nature and color of characteristics within
a stone determine the clarity grade. If all other factors
are equal, the more flawless the stone, the greater
its value.
4. Color - Color is also assessed using a grading
scale, measuring how closely a stone's body color is
to colorlessness. The colorless grade is the most
